HKT Actuators

About Actuators

An actuator is a component that is responsible for controlling the drive units from three energy sources, which make up a majority of actuators in general: pneumatic pressure, hydraulic fluid pressure, and electricity.
HKT provides diaphragm actuators, which convert the energy of pneumatic pressure (compressed air or negative pressure) into linear motion.

Products

Actuators Using Negative Air (For small vehicles)

This actuator uses the negative pressure produced in an engine as an energy source.
It is mounted in the air intake side for opening and closing the intake shutter in order to attenuate sounds during the operation of the exhaust brake and the stopping of the engine.

Actuators Using Positive Air (For mid-size and large-size vehicles)

This actuator uses the positive pressure produced in a compressor installed in the vehicle as an energy source.
It is mounted in the air intake side for opening and closing the intake shutter in order to attenuate sounds during the operation of the exhaust brake and the stopping of the engine.
